Roy Lichtenstein

This was finished in October 2010 and I have um'd and ahh'd about putting it up here mainly because Lichtenstein wanted to make his work look machine produced.  The use of benday dots and primary colours lend well the images to cross stitch, and the use of cross stitch reintroduces the handmadeness of the images.

By reproducing them in this way, do they go against the Lichtenstein's wishes or do they take on a postmodernist interpretation of the artist's work?

This represents about 80 hours work.
